What was my motivation to get healthy?
The day my doctor told me that I was a candidate for a heart attack or a stroke. That was the very day I decided to take control of my health and stop blaming others for what got me to this point. The fear of dying at a young age just shook me to the core. I did not want to die, especially when I had so much to live for. How could I let this happen? I knew I had the ability to take control of my health, and so I did. I began to pay attention to the foods I ate and I started exercising.

Once I began focusing on my food choices, cooking became fun! I took all my favorite recipes and started making them healthy. I eliminated processed foods and started a container garden to grow my favorite foods.
